National Disability Services

In 2010 NDS NSW (National Disability Services) launched a statewide program of Good Governance Regional Forums for all ADHC funded organisations.

The program was launched as part of the NDS strategy to promote ADHCs “It’s Your Business” governance resource manual, entitled the “Good Governance Program”.

Forums were delivered at no cost to the participants and were targeted at CEOs or senior managers and volunteer board or management committee members.

Matrix on Board delivered regional forum sessions for NDS in 22 locations over six rounds between March and November 2010.

The sessions covered a range of governance topics; the themes for the six rounds were as follows (click on the topic of interest for further information on the presentations):

• Governance
• Financial Management (pre-financial year)
• Business Planning and Strategy
• Governance and Legal Issues
• Financial Management (post financial year)
• Quality and Performance Management

As part of attending the forum each participant was invited to partake in NDSs tailored and targeted consultancy stream where the organisation could receive a consulting session with a subject matter expert at no cost.

ADHC is currently evaluating the Good Governance program and considering the continuation of the forums in 2011.
